SHOW YOU CARE!
The WALLY HAYWARD MARATHON will be supporting 6 charities in 2018.
- 2 for Child Welfare (Amadea Safe Houses and Reddingsdaad Broodjieprojek),
- 2 for Cancer (Rainbows and Smiles & PINK DRIVE )
- 2 for Animals (SPCA Tshwane and WETNOSE).
The charities will be making a special effort to ensure that the 2018 Wally Hayward Marathon will be an event that the whole family can enjoy – with a 1KM race for the Kiddies, a 4.9 km MARAFUN FUN RUN and a Kiddies Entertainment area supervised by the charities where you will be able to safely leave your kiddies while you participate in one of the events.
Since the Kiddies 1 km will start at 09h00, you could participate in races 21km and shorter and still have time to collect your kiddies to take part in the 1 km together with them, after finishing your own race.
All proceeds from the 4.9 km MARAFUN (after expenses) will be donated (as usual) to the 5 charities.
SUPERVISED CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT AREA
The Living Word Church will again be organising a supervised Children's entertainment area, for children from 3 years to 10 years of age, with entertainment – including Jumping Castle, face painting, puzzzles, clay and colouring in.
There will be gazebos for shade or in case it rains.
Parents will just need to purchase a plastic hospital identity bracelet for each child for only R 40 for the entertainment for your kiddies between 05h30 and 11h30 on the morning of 1 May 2018.
You can pay for the Kiddies entertainment (and optionally, also their 1km entries), together with your own on-line race entry – or you can even only pay for the Kiddies entertainment, without having to enter any of the races – or you can pay at the kiddies entertainment area on the sports field, on race day.
